Random Huggers Day was launched in London in 2004. The idea is to have random acts of hugging on the streets instead of random acts of violence. They want it to become global so why not help out?

As of March 20th, we will have been at war in Iraq for 5 years. We need peace, and hugging strangers to show acceptance and tolerance is a great way of demonstrating how we feel.

National Hugging Day was started in 1986 and is actually celebrated internationally. January 21st is the real National Hugging Day but we will be out hugging on Saturday, January 19th, so that hopefully more people will be out.
We are meeting at the entrance to Rittenhouse Square on the corner of 18th and Walnut at 1pm. Please comment if you are coming so that we know to wait for you. **BRING YOUR OWN SIGN**

Despite Philadelphia’s high rate of murders, we are still below last year’s record-breaking number at this point. People all over the city are united in an effort to keep this year’s number below 400 murders. A cab driver recently told me he was too afraid to honk at another car cutting him off because the other driver might shoot him. For the city that’s supposed to be full of Brotherly Love, this is very upsetting. Join us this Saturday, December 22nd to spread love and peace with Free Hugs. We will be meeting at the giant clothespin across from City Hall at 1pm.
Bring your own Free Hugs sign, and make a tshirt too if you like. We hope to see you there! Please comment or contact us if you think you’ll be coming so we can wait for everyone.
